Your Christmas Lists... I originally planned on publishing the numerous
"Christmas Lists" submitted to My Daily Driver.com for this month's article.
I will still do this, however I am writing this on December 11th, not by design
but rather by happenstance. Just like you, I attempt to maintain a balance
between family, work, fun and My Daily Driver, not always in that order.
Well, normally when I write, I have either CNN or MSNBC or the football game
playing in the background. So as I have all the content for this month's
article strewn out before me, scribbles on the back of match books,
ATM receipts and unformatted email replies, I am ready to go. It had not
occurred to me that today, December 11th is the three month anniversary of the
attack on my country until the TV begins a report, "Back to Ground Zero".
When my wife and I were married, after 6 weeks of dating and a flight to Las
Vegas courtesy of Marcy and Dave, we would mark each month as an anniversary.
That is what newly weds do. After 6 years of marital bliss, we tend to only
observe the actual annual date. Not due to the lack of caring but more to
honoring the time that has past.
The events of September 11th will also eventually become an annual observation.
But, I was emotionally caught off guard by the re-visiting of that day only 3
months ago. I am pissed off. I am still incredibly angry. Our Special-Ops
forces may kill all those who were involved. Or perhaps we may bring every
individual even remotely associated with this attack to summary justice and yet,
I will still be furious.
