Engines My buddy and I both drive cars from the 1970's. They are both A-bodies, but that's where the similarities end. We just have different opinions of what we prefer to drive. The vast differences between our cars, his hot-rod and my old lady car, makes it difficult to compare them. Actually, I think a better word is competition. Y'know, pointing out items that my car has that are superior to his. The sort of thing buddies do to annoy each other. For instance, if the conversation is about performance, I don't have a foot pound of torque to stand on.

Two A-Bodies!
However, if we discuss classic simplistic transportation, his cubic inches get in the way. What I needed was some common ground upon which we could judge each other equally. A light bulb went off in my head (actually I think it was more of a side marker lamp.) As I mentioned earlier, our cars were built in the 1970's, my buddies in 1974 and mine in 1971. So, which was the better year? How do you decide? A little criterion was necessary. Here is what I settled on for the better year competition. Let the games begin.

Year Chart

Well as you can see, sizing up the competition or setting them up all depends on the rules of the game. Given the right criteria, my car will always be better than yours or yours will be better than mine. I suppose there is a life lesson in here somewhere, but right now I'm busy finding faults with buddies car. This may take a while. tire
